Kitchen Remodeling in Washington, DC & Northern Virginia

Custom kitchens designed and built by one team, from layout and cabinetry to stone, lighting and appliances.

The kitchen is the room our clients use most and the one they ask us about first. Design Insight LLC designs and builds high-end kitchen remodels in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia, either as stand-alone projects or as part of a larger renovation.

Design that fits how you cook and live

We start with how you use the space: who cooks, how you entertain, what needs to be stored and where light comes from. In DC rowhouses that often means opening a closed kitchen to the living space, rethinking a narrow galley, or relocating the kitchen to the rear of the house to connect with the garden. In Northern Virginia homes it may mean an island, a scullery or pantry, or a connection to a new family room or addition.

Planning a kitchen remodel in Northern Virginia or DC

A smooth kitchen project depends on decisions made early: a clear budget range, long-lead items such as cabinetry and appliances ordered on time, permits filed with the right jurisdiction (DC Department of Buildings, Arlington County, Fairfax County or the City of Alexandria), and a plan for living in the house during construction. Because we manage design and construction together, those decisions are sequenced into one schedule instead of passed between separate firms.

Experienced builders

Design Insight's founders come from Clark Construction Group and bring professional scheduling and construction management (PSP, CCM) to every kitchen we build.
